Oh yes -- I LOVE the Stephanie Cole Miss Marple audios. They are phantastic! I wish they'd have her narrate the entire series.

I listened into the Joan Hickson narration and I didn´t like that one very much. But I listened to Richard E. Grant´s narration of "The Murder at the Vicarage" and that´s been a great narration too.
Joan Hickson as a narrator only makes sense if you've seen the TV episodes starring her as Miss Marple. Even so, you can tell that some of these audios were produced years after the last TV episode, though -- her narration is fine, but her diction is a lot clearer in her screen appearances.

I like the Richard E. Grant audios, too, but of these three, Stephanie Cole is my favorite narrator by far.

I listened to a sample of Hickson reading Murder In The Vicarage and decided to go with the Kindle version. She doesn't have the range neeeded to narrate these books.
She used to, once upon a time. Unfortunately, by the time they produced these audios, her voice was no longer really up to it. She may also have been told to read these as if they were narrated by Miss Marple -- because that's essentially what you're getting: Miss Marple narrating Agatha Christie's Miss Marple novels. Which obviously works great for Miss Marple's own character ... but less so for everybody else.
