I think it's working great. It's got to be hard to throw your head back like that and keep that treat planted on his nose. That my friend is a true skill.
He has gotten better at it. At least now he gets the basic idea. It was hard just to get him to sit still enough to hold the treat on his snout at first. Now he knows he has to flip, he just needs to get better at his aim. At this point, I think he thinks the game is to find where the treat ends up on the floor, haha.

The fact that he lets you put the treat on his nose impresses the hell out of me. Mine would just look at me like I was crazy and my aim sucks because he knows those treats belong in his mouth so what the hell's wrong with me?
Bahaha! That's basically what he did at first. He didnt like his snout being grabbed at all but he is slowly coming around. We started by just tossing the treats to him so maybe that will get your pooches into it.

Naw we toss the treats and he just goes and gets it once it lands. However, he will walk on his hind legs across the room for a treat, he will also dance in a circle, sit, lay down and stay in one spot until you tell him he can get his treat and the fun part is he'll do each of those things for me pretty much without fail, my husband tries and it's a toss up sometimes he'll just look at him with a "what are you nuts, just give me the damned treat!" expression. So all in all I figure he's doing pretty well. I don't think he's co-ordinated enough to flip a treat off his nose and catch it.
He definitely has a leg up on Buddy in that way! Bud is very willful and he doesnt listen to commands, he just takes suggestions. Leave it is one command he chooses not to hear. Is your pooch little? Bud is 5" standing up so he'd be quite a sight walking on his hind legs!

Our little guy is a Sealyham Terrier and he actually runs to the small side for his breed. Adult males usually weigh between 24 - 27 lbs. and our guy clocks in at about 22 lbs. and right now he's probably closer to 25 because he's in desperate need of a grooming. We moved so it kind of messed up his schedule (we from Ontario to Saskatchewan, so it wasn't a little move) anyways, right now he's just a ball of fluff and he honestly looks like an Ewok when he stands on his hind legs. It's quite adorable. I frequently tell him it's a good thing he's cute because it saves his ass alot. I'll try and post a couple of pictures so you can see him. I suck at some of this computer stuff but I'll see what I can do.
Aww he sounds adorable. I'd love to see pics of your little Ewok! What a cutie. 25 lbs is definitely a nice manageable size. Perfect to scoop up and snuggle
