Heh. I had a 70s childhood, and we were allowed all those things. But in the 70s you also had the wonderful "I'm tripping over the ultra-long phone cord" issue. Good times.

We had land lines that were always attached to the wall. It was the biggest deal when my mom bought a cordless landline phone. We felt on the edge of tech - now my kids know how to work my iPhone.

Yep! My mom walked me to school the very first day of kindergarten and that was it, I was on my own after that. I sort of miss landlines sometimes... ;)
We still have landlines! We had a rotary until a couple of years ago.
