I didn't realize it had been made into a movie, so thanks for the heads up. I listened to the audiobook maybe a half dozen years ago and really enjoyed it. I didn't entirely buy into the premise of the damning piece of evidence which made the ending a little disappointing, but it was still a great read. I plan to give Pickard's 'The Virgin of Small Plains' a try too.

I've just added "The Virgin of Small Plsins" to my TBR pile. I agree about the ending. Nancy Picard commented that she was more comfortable with the historic timeline than the contemporary one. I don't think she quite knew how to resolve the plot. Main main pleasure was in her writing. I'm hoping an entirely historical plot will make her more comfortable.
