Sadly, most of Christie's later books suffer from the disconnect between conservative views and the world around her. There is, unfortunately, little left of the early Christie that promoted the bright young things in her earlier books and the Daily Mail editorials do seem get a firm place in the canon.
Yeah I forget what Poirot book it was, but he was lamenting girls walking around with short skirts and hair.
He does that in most of the final books, unfortunately (particularly so also in "Third Girl" -- another Ariadne Oliver mystery).
Yup. I think that's the one I am thinking of. It got real annoying quick.
Yep. That one ... is eyeroll-worthy in several respects.

Oh, great. :( That one is still on my TBR.
It's not anywhere near "Passenger to Frankfurt" and "Postern of Fate" level -- but it'll stretch your patience. Big time, probably.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll save that one for a gin night.
That's probably a wise decision!
Third Girl was beyond stupid. I still can't talk about it without sputtering. Have some gin on me when you start.
