I didn't discover Lois McMaster Bujold until 2016. Since then, I've read 6 novels in the Vorkosigan Saga and I've enjoyed all of them. Enjoy your journey!
Well, I guess I can take solace in not being the only one to discover her recently :-) I'm really looking forward to the rest now.
I guess reading the first book in a series is not the best strategy for reducing my TBR pile. I take one off and then add six or seven more.
Oh, what a great review of this. It's always been a book I had trouble explaining why I loved it so much. Yours may be the best review of it I ever read. I think it led me to discovering the Vorkosigan books as a random bargain buy when publisher released a duology edition for $1.99.
Author has posted some suggested reading order stuff. One caution in pursuing the series, a couple of book titles and short story titles share exact same names. (And a few short story collections repeat what stories are collected if also reading the shorts.)
Thank you. I'm glad you liked the review. I saw something on the author's website about the arguments on what order to read her books in. I like to go in publication order as it helps me track the writer's thinking. I wasn't aware of the title duplication so thanks for the heads up on that.
