There is an awful lot of confusion about what precisely neutering does to male animals, haha. I've heard several (rather horrifying!) suggestions from people.
Well it doesn't turn them into girl dogs! She's already a girl. She was spayed, not neutered.
Like I said, some of them were horrifying suggestions. O_O

Haha, no, it certainly cannot, and someone should have caught that, if not in the original writing, at *least* in the editing. Hopefully there was editing.
No I mean, the characters were not aware the female dog they purchased was in fact female. It's got nothing to do with editing. Apparently the breeder sold it to them as a male and the characters are in fact as dumb as shit not to realise their dog is a girl. It's a big deal because the main character changes the dog's name to something more feminine when she realises. But seriously how do you buy a dog, have it for years, and not realise if it's a boy or a girl?

I think it's meant to be a commentary on how neglectful the parents are to the dog but I just can't even wrap my head around how dumb they should be not to notice when they otherwise seem to be capable adults.
Ouch, I'm not sure if that is better or worse, then.
I put this out yesterday and I thought of you and your comments earlier. And now this. I kinda wish I hadn't had to put it out now...
It seems a lot of people are enjoying it. I feel like I'm nitpicking, almost? Like, I can't enjoy it because there are too many little things that bug me. Especially the main character's attitude. Like, so what, I grew up in a strict household with an emotionally abusive mother and I was sexually assaulted at age 11 HA HA BEAT THAT AGE 13 and I didn't run away. I mean, there is literally nowhere for me to run to but that's not the point. She seems to think she's so different and special and the world revolves around her. OK so she's sixteen but still. She's got this 'i'm so broken but at least I've seen the world and experienced life' complex.
