You don't have to read "Murder Must Advertise" before "Gaudy Night"! It's a good mystery, but not part of the Harriet Vine cycle (and no dice on "Gaudy Night", but then, NO other book in the series is). So if you want to go from "Have His Carcase" straight to "Gaudy Night", I'd suggest you go right ahead!

And btw, I have Barbara Pym's "Excellent Women" on my TBR as well ... hoping to get to it this year, too.

I'm going to give it a try, but if I bog down (like with Five Red Herrings), I am going to move right on.
Oh, never fear, it's very different from "Five Red Herrings"! :)

TA? You game?

I can wait for a bit if necessary! I've got many other options...
Totally game. When?

Oh man, this year is off to an excellent start. 2 buddy reads lined up already and my TBR is already groaning with new additions (3 of which, yesterday alone) ...

My library book is due February 5, but it's likely I will be able to renew. So, I would say anytime in January or February.
Second half of Jan. or first week of Feb.?

Either of those would work for me. How about planning to start on Friday the 25th?
Sounds good to me. MbD? (And "The Library Book" right after that?)

That sounds like a perfect plan - 25th for Excellent Women, and The Library Book, TA, the week after (or ?).

Looking forward to it! :D
Excellent!
