I'm totally in for Beloved; it was going to be one of my squares anyway. And it would be my 3rd or 4th read of it, but it's one book I can't read enough times.

I'm in for the Beloved group read. I regret to say that I haven't read this one, yet, so it is high time! What better way to read it than with the BL community?
My very first read was in a high school literature class, and having people to discuss it with is definitely a plus. I also remember the teacher taking us to the Corcoran Gallery, which houses a painting of Margaret Garner, the slave whose story inspired Beloved. This teacher had a very holistic approach to teaching literature, and would often have related activities for us when we started a new work. So it's such a memorable book for me, for many reasons. My subsequent readings were done alone; I would love to do it in a group setting again.
Oh wow, that sounds like a wonderful reading experience -- and a wonderful teacher!

Indeed! That is a great way of engaging readers with a book.
I'd participate in a group read of either of these.
