I haven't even started this yet because of all the buzz about how disappointed people were. *sigh* I'm afraid. LOL.

I know. I just couldn't carry on especially when I've got Lirael shining down from my bookcase and Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell looming down from my bookacse (which I am determined to finish one of these days). I tried both audio and kindle versions for Allegiant but I just couldn't do it. I hate DNFing too :-( Maybe the very low expectations will help you get through it :-D

Yes, I'm too afraid to buy this one too. I really liked the first two and was super excited when I saw it then scrolled down to reviews and was smacked in the face. So many people hated it. They just announced plans for making movies too. I wonder if whoever bought the movie rights are worried now? Or maybe they'll just change the last one or something lol. Can I ask you something? I was just wondering if you're a part of a reading group? I noticed a few shelves that were similar and was wondering. If I'm being nosey or anything you don't have to answer. Just curious is all.

No you're not being nosey - even if you were I wouldn't mind. I'm not part of any reading group. My sister and I always read the same books (so a two woman reading group of sorts) but she's having a baby very soon, which has kept her very busy so I was bereft of fellow book-lover's interaction (albeit temporarily I hope). That's why I started on booklikes & GR very recently - to get my fix :)) I think I'll probably stay though because it's been so much fun!

Oh and I wouldn't say I hated it - it just seemed to lose it's way. Having said that I wasn't overly keen on the second one either so it was a slow demise for me; for those who loved the second one I imagine the third one would have been akin to being unceremoniously hurled off a cliff.

Yeah, the second one wasn't as good but it was decent. I'm still kind of scared. I'm probably going to have to get it. Who knows, maybe I'll be one of the few who really like it, sometimes I enjoy books others tend to hate, still kind of nervous about it though. Wish the reviews were more positive.

I wonder if something is wrong with my browser? I've been using Internet Explorer (about to switch to chrome soon) but a lot of people's shelves are showing exactly the same thing to me even though the amount of books in them is different, that's why I was wondering about the reading group.

I'm so glad your having a good time here, I've really enjoyed being here, have learned a lot and now have a ton of new books on my wish list :) I just started my blog and have never used Goodreads for much other than posting my reviews so it's all taking a bit to get used to. Congratulations to your sister and her having a baby soon :)

I feel for you - it's always such a disappointment when good books go bad, particularly when you love the prequels. You should go ahead though because the bad reviews will soften the blow and, as you say, you might love it.

Booklikes is a bit buggy on Safari and Chrome (for me anyway), which isn't surprising given all the work they do to improve it and the amount of new users they must have had, but it's all part of the fun. We might never have spoken if it wasn't for the ghostly glitches :))

Thank you! I'll pass on your congrats - she is quite cranky at the moment so it might cheer her up a bit.

Aww, I think she's allowed to be cranky :)
