i think this is the 10 novel saga. If it is the one I think it is, then I've got them in hardback and read it bleedin' years ago.

Oh, no, scrap that. mine is "The Invaders Plan."

Apparently the Mission Earth series is a 10 book extravaganza as well. I just read a biography of LRH and he was apparently well known for pounding out reams of text.

Yes... he is also known for a few other things! I live not a few miles distant from his UK Scientology HQ in East Grinstead.

I do believe I enjoyed The Invaders Plan when I read it, although looking at the volumes now, there's no way I'd attempt it again.

Yes, he is well known for many oddities and he left us Scientology, which sounds just dreadful. I think BE is the only one of his works that I will read (although I note that our University library has a number of Scientology texts available, I think I will pass on those).

I have read Dianetics, and if he were to attempt to publish that today, he'd be laughed off the planet.

I had a high school friend who tried to convince me that Dianetics was the best thing since sliced bread. She got a bit sniffy when I laughed at the thought

To laugh at dianetics is an under-reaction in my humble opinion. Rolling around on the floor for at least twenty minutes, holding your sides and screaming laughter until you have cried a mississippi on the carpet is a good beginning, I feel.

Isn't it amazing how people can get sucked in by this kind of drivel? And yet there are people like John Travolta and Tom Cruise admitting that they actually believe in this crap

Ah... now behind that, runs a whole different story...
