That sounds fascinating.

I remember seeing a clip once in college anthropology class (I believe it was originally from British TV at some point in the 70s) where they had Richard Leakey and Donald Johanson as their guests. Johanson came with a prepared chart of exactly what he thought the family tree of man was (his discoveries prominent). When it came Leakey's turn, he turned it over and wrote a huge "?" - his feeling was that there were many fossils still to find, and so much we didn't know.

I can see where both of them are coming from. I hope the openness of the A. sediba lab carry over into the field as a whole. Less competition, more co-operation!
