Every time I think about moving closer to my parents, I remind myself that they get way more snow than my area does, and I don't like driving under the best of conditions, much less in snow. Yeesh. Stay safe!

Driving in snow is a skill. We are getting some extra practice this year. But it seems like Calgarians lose their minds during the first real snowfall each and every year.
Wow, that's some early winter

Yeah, it seems like we went directly from forest fire smoke into winter. This has been the crappiest fall that we've had in a long, long time.
Sheesh. And "inadequately plowed" is putting it mildly ...

To be fair, it's only October 2. They did what they could.
Oh, no doubt. Still ... I wonder how many people just called in that they were unable to come into work.

Haha, not nearly enough!!
Oh, no ...

There were accidents all over the city this morning. Calgarians have only a few weeks of snow free weather, but completely forget how to drive in snow EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

Stay home because of some snow? But that just wouldn't be Canadian!

But more seriously, it's the same thing in Ottawa. It snows every year and that first snow (and sometimes several other ones) is just a disaster. And that's with snow tires being mandatory on the other side of the river (Quebec). I do hope the snow holds off here though because I'll be moving in November...
Ow. Fingers crossed.

Wow. That is crazy early for snow. And you guys are a little bit south of us (going by latitudes)...which makes me concerned about snow reaching us earlier than usual, too. Apparently, we have snow on the mountains up near Inverness as of yesterday.

That is a crazy amount of snow, tho. Proper snow tires sound like a great investment to at least provide a little bit more traction and help keep you safe.

Stay warm!

Thanks, BT. It's partly because of our close proximity to the Rockies. Wet air got pushed up, over the mountains and dumped the moisture on us. My cousin still needs to harvest a bunch of crops--I just hope they didn't get as much as we did here.

As Wanda said, it's not that early for Calgary. Alberta is extra special. :D

We often have snow on Halloween, but usually not quite this much. At least its melting now! And I get new tires this afternoon. :)
