Ish - I'm glad I passed this one over at the book sale last week. "Infant" would have driven me insane.
A friend on GRs was talking about how the hero and heroine's relationship was a little bit like what we would call a D/s relationship but Heyer made it tongue in cheek, which makes it easier to swallow for me with all the sitting at hero's feet and kissing his hand. I wasn't quite clear on Heyer's style and think she was more tongue in cheek than I thought. But yeah, a hard romantic relationship to fall for.

Heyer is *definitely* tongue-in-cheek, although it can be very sly and subtle. So the age difference wouldn't bother me as much as "infant" - how can you have romantic thoughts about anybody you call "infant"??? Gross. That's a tongue in the wrong cheek as far as I'm concerned. :P
And it would switch off from him and others saying father figure and Grandfather figure. I'm sure you would have loved that even more than infant, lol.
