Spot on. I think Ms Roth underwent a personality transplant. Either that or she didnt write this book at all. Didnt I read somewhere she took an extra year with it or something so that she could "Get it right" ? Or am I making stuff up...if so epic fail. Anyway. yes to everything you said. The reason for the factions and what "divergent" actually meant was a complete yawnfest especially considering the awesome build up. Tris dying is NOT the problem, done well that would have been great, but nah. It was, in fact, completely pointless. And YES YES on Four. I wanted to strangle him. So yeah. Great review. :)

Haha I personally think she got writer's block, wrote whatever she could by the extended deadline and the editors didn't have time to do a thorough editing so just went with what they had. Tris's death would have meant more by the way of sel-sacrifice if she had jumped in front of Caleb or Four to save their lives - not the massive martyr complex she had.

Absolutely right. Also I really couldnt care less that she had died because she lost her edge for me in the last book. I just wish she'd taken Four with her. THAT I could have gotten behind :D pah. I hate it when I'm disappointed in one I've been dying to read :(

I agree. By the time the ending came I was already over it. The book was problematic even without the disastrous ending. And, yes, I could get behind Four dying with her as well. That would have actually been very special. :)
