Well noticed on the footstool. It's much more distinct than any of the other furniture in the room. I now want to know why.

I can NOT stop thinking about this footstool! The best I can guess is that after he drew the couple and the room there was this empty space that bothered the artist and he felt it needed to have something to fill it. Meanwhile I have now noticed how amazingly tiny Elizabeth's feet are in that drawing - er, foot that is, we can only see one. I'm hoping that's just a small part of her foot, because that's an impossible size.
