How very interesting. I had never heard of him before.
On a Kindle, u out can get an idea of the length from the little dots following the t title on your home screen.

Wow, I had NOT noticed that about the little dots! I mean, I'd figured out the bit about them indicating how far along you were into the book, but I had never compared them with other books in the list view! Thank you! Definitely helps!

The article I linked to seems to indicate that Ainsworth was well read at the time, but critics weren't much impressed, and later generations of scholars didn't spend much time on him. Maybe once I've read at least one book I'll have a better grasp on what his writing's like. It's already had me annoyed at the unfairness of cursing a baby who couldn't help that it was the child of a witch/warlock couple, which is what I think Ainsworth intended.

Thank you. Now I have his Gunpowder Plots novel as well as the Librovox version of this book on my computer. *Sigh* Thanks for sharing the wealth but at the same time...I understood your problem before these new volumes. ;-)
