Have you checked Project Gutenburg?

Didn't find anything under Olivia Moreland - but then I didn't search very exhaustively there. I spent more time on Internet Archive and Open Library, and didn't find anything there. Which is odd, because usually things on Google Books are available in multiple places.

I then made myself stop searching because I am so easily carried away. And in theory I'm doing work. Yes, yes indeed. This is all work related. (I'm still working out how that's so, but I'll come up with something.)

Project Gutenburg has Home Taxidermy for Pleasure and Profit: A Guide for Those Who Wish to Prepare and Mount Animals, Birds, Fish, Reptiles, etc., for Home, Den, or Office Decoration

I've found it most useful.

The weird thing about that title is that I could easily see it being produced now, maybe even as an ebook with lots of decor-magazine-type photos. (And I'd probably have to go read the sample too.)
I wonder if it covers crocodiles?

(Now making note to look this up after I finish project, not before, no no, mustn't weaken...)

Oh! I saw that one on there when I was searching for reviews. I made a mental note to come back and read it. I couldn't find it reviewed anywhere which surprised me. They usually have a one line snippet or something. This whole quest has just made me realize how book reviewing literally hasn't changed in 200 odd years. And in some ways we, the reviewers of now, are way nicer than those of yore.

It's actually kind of cool that the snark level was always out there in reviews. Because there's a lot of "things are SO much worse now, so many more mean reviews out now" bemoaning I read about. It's nice to know at least this area really isn't worse.

And I still haven't made time to go look at that Dandyism book!
