Love the review. I've got to read some Ali Smith.
Thanks.

I'm pretty sure I will. All the people I know and trust on here keep writing beautiful things about her.
There are some good stories in the Canongate Myths. The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood is extremely good. And I read Philip Pullman's take on the Gospels only last week.

The Penelopiad is already on the kindle. As are The Weight (Winterson) and Babajaga Laid an Egg. How was the Pullman one? I'm hesitant about Pullman as I really disliked Northern Lights/Golden Compass.
The book is nothing like Northern Lights. In some ways the style is quite simplistic, but there are parts which pack quite a punch when he's talking about the Catholic Church. I can see why people were offended by it, but what do you expect when you ask an atheist to re-tell the Gospels?

Hm,.... Thanks. It does sound like I need to give it a try.
