Thanks. I thought I was done, too, but let's face it, for me this one is going to be less about Hardy.
I'd love to hear this narration by Alan Rickman, though it will probably make me cry. I'll have to go look for it. Thanks!

I've been thinking I ought to try to find some audiobooks narrated by Alan Rickman... it's not gonna be Thomas Hardy though. You made me laugh with that opening line, thanks! I really needed a reason to laugh today.

I'm not sure what other books he did a narration for. Please let me know if you find something interesting. I REALLY wish it had not been Hardy, either.

I'm a Hardy virgin, but this is the book of his a friend recommended to me.

Oh, really? Did your friend say why this book was worthy of a recommendation? As you can tell, I'm not a fan of Hardy's, but I do appreciate that other readers might enjoy his style, setting, etc. and am always curious to see what people see in his books.

To be fair, so far this as boring as expected but not as bad as I thought it might be - he even seems to throw in some humor. I'm only still at the beginning, tho...

I think the humor was a key element. From her description of the story and characters (especially Eustacia Vye), it sounded more interesting and oddball than my conception of Hardy was.

It is remarkably funny so far, but I just don't trust it. :D Not after the bleak twists all the other Hardy's I've read had.
