Very interesting - I'd forgotten this (if I even noticed, since I did most of my Christie reading in my teens). I found this: http://allinthefamilyadoption.com/adoption-is-no-mystery-to-dame-agatha-christie%E2%80%8F/ - apparently Christie's mother was an adoptee, and unhappy, and that is tackled in the first few pages of Christie's autobiography.

Ha! Thanks for the link. I have read her autobiography, but that part just didn't stick. As if I needed another reason for a re-read, eh? ;)

Did you see they're doing a remake of Murder on the Orient Express? Kenneth Brannaugh is directing AND playing Poirot.

No, I hadn't seen that. I will go and look it up. I'm doubtful, tho, that this would live up to the book and the two versions I already love. I like Brannagh, but I'm just not seeing him as Poirot.

It can't be nearly as bad as 5'5'' Tom Cruise as the 6'5'' Jack Reacher. Still, Derek Jacobi and Judi Dench will be in it, so it can't be too terrible, can it?

I'm sure they will put together a fine performance. I love both JD and DJ. Still, KB as Poirot...will be interesting.
