Oh no! I'm not in a reading slump, (knock on wood), but I am in a bit of a reviewing slump. I just read The Child Thief and while I was impressed with it for the most part, I just don't feel like writing a review. Pffft.

Sometimes, reviewing slumps are even worse than reading slumps. I mean, you might come across some really good books and just can't find the words to share them.....Ugh...
Definitely in a reviewing slump, too. I'm putting it down to end-of-year stress (as in, exhaustion from a stressful year aggravated by yet more stress right at the end of the year to top it off). My reading is strictly escapist at this point -- which still doesn't mean I'm in much of a mood to actually review anything I'm reading, however! :(

Yes, I think end-of-year stress has a lot to answer for just now. :( Hope your escapist reading at least provides some fun diversion.
It does, thank God ...

Hope you'll be out of your reviewing slump soon!

Arg! Slump-itis? Book-flu/review-flu? Slumponucleosis? Sorry, I'll stop now. We all need the chicken-soup equivalent that will knock us out of these slumps. I was hoping I'd see the back of it once that last book was off my radar, but no, I spent all day (ALL day) yesterday browsing through Bloomsbury's entire catalog (45% off sale!) buying books instead of actually reading them.

I guess there are worse ways to spend the day, but....yes slumpitis or slumponucleosis sounds about right..... I have read, tho not with great enjoyment (and I think The Boy Who Followed Ripley will be a dnf.) It's the reviewing part I'm struggling with. BL being a pain isn't helping with it either.

Fellow slumponucleosis victim here as well. Both review slump AND reading slump. I've read some not so great books, which is probably not helping. And it seems to be taking me at least a week or two to get around to review even one book.

I'm considering listening to some audio books I've already listened to just to pass the time while doing nothing. I guess at least I'll be "reading" even if only passively.

Hope the new year will help everyone climb back out of their slumps. For me, it usually will take until February, if past reading patterns indicate anything.

Oh, no! So it IS contagious!!!
I'm very sorry to hear you're going through this, too. Audiobooks sound good, tho.
Audiobooks are a major recent cure of mine as well these days. Definitely the way to go, I'm finding -- not that they're getting me over my reviewing slump, but they're definitely helping me not to also fall into a reading slump!
