It's not THAT bad. I'm at 20% and it has picked up. It was just that I expected more of RBG's thoughts and thinking, not a collection of articles and speeches - some of which are about her, not by her, and not many of which went into a lot of detail about her views etc.

It's a weird book.

It's better now that it includes briefs written by her and outlining some legal reasoning. That part is quite gripping. Currently reading a submission she wrote for the ACLU in the Frontiero case (1973) about sex discrimination.

Re cat: Hehe. I love it when they do that. So cute, yet so full of catlike disdain.

Wasabi does this, but then he falls asleep and rolls off; sometimes onto the couch, sometimes onto the floor. It's worrisome and hilarious at the same time. :P

Glad to hear the book is getting better - I was really bummed when I read your post.

Of the 402 pages, I'd say about 25% are Appendix (photographs, index, etc.) and 20% at the beginning are useless tributes to her being "great". And by useless, I mean I have no interest in reading laudatory introductions to her speeches or excerpts from operas (!) written about her and Scalia.

The middle 50% are interesting, but repetitive.

This could have been a much better book, but it seems there were too many authors at work.
