I need to get back to these ...

They are still fab.
They are -- and you're so right about the first ones being the best.

Btw, I'll read this for the Festivus task - This one is obviously a satire on the whole spy game thing ... and some other things.
Besides, it's funny as hell. :D

It is. :D

I absolutely love them, their humour works on different levels...great(but this is not an early one,as a matter of fact,I think it was the first or second release after Goscinny passed away)

It must be the first. It has a dedication to Rene. But, to me it still is an early one. It reads like an early one and it is from 1981.

I stand corrected - it is the third after Rene's passing. It still read like one that had the spirit of the early ones.

Yes,that's possible but unfortunately not all the stories written without Goscinny were an undivided success, the storylines were lacking something, the subtlety of certain gags or wordplay or pun was not quite right...

Exactly! That is what made me think this was an early one!
The later ones are very much a mixed bag.
I got no. 29 for Christmas...

Lovely! Have you read it, yet?
Actually, no; I'm saving it for when I'm bogged down with everything else I'm reading or ill/depressed.

Good plan!
