Isn't it great when we pick up a book specifically for a subject and there is nothing about said subject anywhere to be seen :P

I'm don't think it would work as a general history of anything in particuar ... like a history of the relationship of the west and the east or such like. It was too unfocused for that. And it certainly doesn't work as a "history of the world" - new or otherwise - because he leaves out too much for that.
It really was disappointing.

Prof Snape was scarrier (sp?) as Sherrif of Nottingham than as Snape. I hear you about the book. I'm so glad it's you that gets to read it and tell the rest of us how horrible it is, instead of me. I always wonder if it's me or if it's the book when I read history books and don't get what the fuss is about.

He was. I still miss Alan. :( A lot.

I really don't know. It is weird when almost everyone else seems to love the book. But with this one I really questioned whether it was me or the book - hence I stuck with it for as long as I did before starting to skim/skip read to the end. I think it was the book in this case.
