So right -- about Albert, too (whom I completely forgot to mention in my review). Also, Albert and U.U. ... seriously, Sir Terry?

Exactly! Albert being so pompous is what got to me.

Oh, and I'm not sure the 91 day thing makes sense. Wouldn't the lifetimer keep going whenever he leaves the house/kingdom? So, how could he feature on errands such as in Hogfather?
*And* totally devoid of the wisecracks and street wisdom he's showing in "Hogfather" ... Not the same person at all.

Re: the 91 days -- yes, that puzzled me as well.

This was an ok book, but not even near as good as Equal Rites. And Mort, ... ugh. There were times I seriously wanted to shove him into the Ankh.
Sir Terry? Or Mort? Or both of them? :) (Me, definitely the latter.)

My biggest issue was with the ending -- which I just had to mini-rant about, so I put it into spoiler tags. So totally out of character ... and he was way too serious about it, which got in the way of the spoof.

Oh well. One more, and then we'll be back in Klatch with Granny and her coven!

Ugh. That ending... I totally agree with your rant. It was too serious and also made little sense.

What's the next book?
Sourcery. (Wizards subseries.)

It may well get three stars from me too. But then it's competing with my Snakes and Ladders read right now.

What's your other read right now?

Thomasina by Paul Gallico. I had to read a childhood favourite, but it's going fast so I'm sort of hurtling through it.
