Yes. :) This time they were there. They are on the other side of the main path, tho. I.e. you turn up the path on the right, heading towards Slains Castle. And even then I had to get really close to the edge to see them (there is a slopey bit that is relatively safe to approach...there were a couple of other people with professional camera gear there too).
I remember the slopey bit ... that's the direction in which I went, too. Glad it paid out for you!

I was hoping to see puffins when I visited the Isle of Staffa. Unfortunately they were very shy and didn´t come out. So congrats for seeing them, BT :D. They are adorable.

Elusive? On Staffa? That's the one place I know where they are the closest and actually waddle up on the path. What time of year did you visit?

We were there in June and there wasn´t a single Puffin in sight :(. And we were so looking forward to see them.

Boo! We saw them there in June, around the middle of the month, but we thought we might be too late in the season to spot them.
I hope you get a chance to see them again at another time.

I hope so too :).

Well, Staffa was nice even without the Puffins, but the trip would have been so much better if we would have seen them.

Absolutely breathtaking photos.

A bit blurry but this was the best I could do without a more powerful lense.
Puffins!! It is impossible not to be cheered at the sight of a puffin or two. Bempton Cliffs in North Yorkshire is also a prime spot for Puffin watching.

Exactly! They instantly spread a good mood. :)

Love seeing these guys! :D

Me, too. I just love them. I like the other auks, too, but the puffins just made my day yesterday. And I wasn't the only one! There was another couple perched on that spot waiting patiently for a glimpse of them in the same spot.
