They should maybe have had more board meetings over quite a number of things. Including, most recently, whether to acquire Monsanto ... (Sometimes I wonder how they managed to survive as a company for some 100+ years.)

I also wondered why they bought Monsanto. There were lawsuits against the company and it had a bad reputation with controversial products for years. Whatever Monsanto had in R&D can't possibly make up for all the money they are having to fork out now.

But again, it's the people who produced heroin and marketed it to parents of teething infants. They need more board meetings, sure, but what would be better is if they had board meetings that included people with any sense.

They didn't realise heroin was addictive at the beginning? A lot of drugs are like that. It works for one thing and then next thing you know - oh shit! there is a problem. Board meetings are pointless in terms of adverse effects if you are only going to discuss restructuring, marketing and money-making. How many boardmembersof pharmaceutical companies actually have a clue about the biochemistry involved?

Just goes to show - if you need to calm a screeching baby down, just give them a tot of good old-fashioned whiskey. ;)
