Thank God she waited another few decades to have Miss Marple travel (though also to an exotic location when she finally did)!

Also interesting to see how, based on the characters, the initial plans for "Death on the Nile" seem to have incorporated a good bit of what would later become "Appointment with Death" ... another one of Poirot's adventures in the Middle East!

Yes, if there is one thing that becomes clear from the notebooks it is that she recycled a lot of the ideas into different stories.
... even more so than is apparent anyway from her published work!

The original character lists for each work in the notebooks are fascinating because the ones she crossed out invariably pop-up again in later stories. I just learned that she originally intended Nurse Hopkins to feature in HP's Christmas.

If this isn't indicative of a Christie universe where characters are related (if not by family then by back story or location), then what is?
