Yup.
Time...for a book-buying binge!

Eh, no. That would just provide me with more books that I won't be able to choose from.

I hate it when that happens. The fickle finger of reading whims strikes again...

It's so annoying.

It will definitely not be mystery. Following up Sayers last Wimsey novel with another mystery? Eh, no... Unless you want me to 1* the book already.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I've got a lot of books still on my Planned list for the year and I want to read everything but those books. Stubborn me!!

Stubborn you? Pesky books!

Choose the thinnest unread book on your shelves?

A good option.
Me too. This happens to me every year.

How do you tackle this, OB?
I just start letting myself read what I am drawn to in between finishing up books for Halloween bingo. My brain can't just read one genre straight it seems without wanting to throw up a protest sign LOL. Why I ended up reading three Cathy Lamb books in a row recently. If you just read one that is short then you satisfy that urge. That's what I have done though, it may not work for everyone.

That's why I added in the first book of Olivia Manning's Balkan Trilogy during the bingo. I can't stick to any one genre at a time either, and I am such a mood reader, I need to have different things going on so I can easily switch.

So, not being able to choose any book last night was like my brain or, rather, my books(!) were mocking me.

I know that feeling too :). Just thinking about what to pick up after the bingo makes me realize, I don´t have a clue. Instead I´m feeling the urge to buy some new books, even though I have a gazzillion books on my shelves.

I totally feel your pain on this.
