Worse was not possible.

LoL. Let's face it, none of these are great. But this one is nowhere near as bad. Someone must have learned a lesson.

That's an ugly cover. It is better than they do a gradient color cover that is simple and clean.
I've seen worse covers. The original emu+christmas tree covers on the first edition Lord of the Rings novels come to mind. They are so bad they don't even show up on the internet anymore.

@XOX and @Elentarri, this cover is not great but it is perfectly lovely when compared to the cover on Tigus edition of Dead Corse, which is another title (by the same author) in the same Penguin series. (Link to the cover we're on about: http://booklikes.com/dead-corse-mary-kelly/book,14012354 )
Not great but still better than the emu/smas tree LOTR cover. Trust me.

Really? I'm intrigued, but I am too scared to google it.
I can't find it on google, or I'm not using the correct search parameters. I saw a photo of it in one of those books discussing Tolkien and his works. I also came across a letter (or it might have been the biography) where Tolkien was horrified at the covers because they had nothing to do with the book.
