I loved Himself by this author, it looks like I'll have to add Things in Jars to my TBR as well!

It´s a weird book, isn´t it? And yet it somehow works. And I still cannot tell you specifically what I liked about it.

There are quite a few specific things that I liked about the story and that, I thought, set the book apart from others, but listing them would include spoilers.

One specific thing just came up in my mind: I really liked the relationsship between Bridie and Ruby and Bridie and Cora. And the atmosphere. And the writing style, which made this book special in a way ... okay, I can tell you a few specific things I liked about this book ;)

Btw, I´ve heard that the warmth is in her other books as well. I´m really curious about Himself, which I have on my TBR.

I'm glad to hear that that aspect seems to be in her other books, too. I really appreciated that part, because otherwise this story would have been nothing but "goose-flesher" as Bertie Wooster called it, and would not have had quite such an impact.

I love the relationships between those characters, too. And that Cora, who was quite blunt, really showed such a different side to her at the end. And that...well, I'll PM you the other thing.

This sounds like an interesting read. I might just have to add it to my never ending TBR pile haha!!! Thank you for sharing!
