I´m really intrigued by this book and my library has it as an ebook. I´m putting this one the "maybe-from-the-library" pile for now and I might check it out at some point.

I just found out there is a sequel. While I thought this one was fun, I'm not sure I'd want to read on. I kind of struggle with real characters being borrowed to play an active part in a fictional story, and this happens in this one (and even more so in the sequel, I think).

But this isn´t one of my favorite things either, tbh. I´m still scarred from reading this abominable murder mystery with the Mitford sisters. I might still give this one a shot, but thanks for the warning.

The real characters in this one are mostly providing the background against which the mystery is set BUT at the very end one of the real characters does get involved with the plot. It was jarring, and this was what puts me off picing up the sequel. The way this book ended ensures that the real character would need to be acting against his biography (so to speak) in the next book, too.

Urgh .. yeah, that´s what happened in the Mitford Murders. The author changed the biography of the real life characters in order to make their lives fit the narrative and to make the story more exciting. I absolutely hated it.
If that is the case with this book, I will give it a hard pass.

Yeah, give it a miss. It only happens at the end of the book, but it may be enought to spoil the book for you.
