I just added this one to my re-read queue. I find myself going back to the mid-20th writers for their "consistent use of refined prose." Current fiction just isn't doing it for me these days.

Oh, I always look forward to breaking my current reads with a familiar author. Even better when it's one who can write - you know, one where you read a paragraph and go - Wow!
All I'm saying is, thank goodness for kindle highlights.

What did you make of Stamboul Train when you read it?

It has been a couple of years since I read it but I remember liking it. I think it was the the GG that I had ever read and I have gone on to read other of his titles. But much furhter than that, I can't really comment. I have a terrible memory and don't tend to remember things--which is very helpful when you do a lot of re-reading but lamentable in all other aspects.
