Rather patriotic with his blue bill, heh?

Beautiful pic!
Booby pictures! The teenager in me is giggling uncontrollably!

And then I go, ooooh, lovely picture!
Part of me is giggling to "Spot the Booby" on Monty Python.
I'm not the only one giggling! Or with part of me giggling! I don't feel so alone!
So glad to realise I'm not the only one with an inner 12-year-old. While we were there I was taking pictures on my phone and sending them to my friends with "booby pics!" as the header.
That's fantastic!

This is great! What lense does he use? Or lenses?
The camera is a Canon 5D Mk II. And his lenses are a 400mm f/5.6, a 70-200mm f/4, and a 28-70mm f/3.5.

Oh wow! Tell me where you live and I'll come "borrow" them. ;-) I have a 24-105 mm f/4 which is not very useful for getting shots like this. I hope you use the excuse that he needs to take new photos to travel lots! :-)
Oh definitely! It's a bit of a pain carrying all the equipment (I have a spotting scope and tripod, and he has all the camera paraphernalia), but the pictures are worth it.

I've heard being married to/shadowing photographers builds patience and fortitude. There is a place in heaven waiting for you! ;-)
Hmm, I probably forfeited my place in Heaven a long time ago. I enjoy the birding aspect of his photography because it's something I enjoy too. I've usually got my scope set up to watch birds while he's taking the pictures.

But last year when he was trying different lighting techniques for architectural pictures wasn't as much fun. He needed to be outdoors at dusk to get the perfect conditions and it was always bloody freezing. He got some good pictures though.

Surely there is room for negotiating; oodles of patience for a trip to Hawaii, or Europe to take some fantastic photos. It's a win, win!
