(Why is the formatting on this post so funky?!)

The characters are OK, I guess. I feel like I've read variations of them in numerous other books, though, so not much of them really stands out.

I don't know what it is about this book, you either love it or... couldn't be bothered with it. My friend is so enthusiastic about this book and keeps saying how much she loved it and I feel bad when I have to remind her that I have not finished it. I like books about war and history. This one just wasn't my type.

There's nothing to hate, really. It does not offend me, it doesn't make me feel overly sad or angry. It just doesn't bring any extreame feelings - or... maybe that's the answer why we don't care.
This is exactly how I feel too!! Everyone gushes about it, and I'm thinking, "It's...OK???"

There is absolutely nothing objectionable, and I definitely wouldn't hesitate to recommend (God, it's so much better than most of the YA sh!t out there!); it's just, for myself, I don't really care.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't even bother reading, were I not buddy reading it. I am so sick to death of WWII novels, it doesn't matter that there is something "more" to this, I just don't want to read books set in that time period. PERIOD.
(It's weird, because I split it into 3 paragraphs, but to me it all looks like one...could be my stupid computer tho...)

I guess the characters are "real" in the sense of "real boring"? LOL, seriously, they are OK, not the worst I've ever read, but not the ones I'm like, "OMG, I NEED to know what happens to you!!" If anything, I'm like, "I've seen you before...where??"
