But Reilly is an Aussie!? (MT reads some of these, which is the only reason I know this.)

He is. Which is probably why his American heroine is a herpetologist specializing in crocodiles and alligators. It's the first Reilly I've read, so I'm wondering if he was specifically writing for an American audience with this one.

MT has read a few at this point from two series; one is set in AU, with an Aussie protagonist, but the other is set in the US with a former US Marine as the mc. So ... maybe his wife is American? :D

She's an Aussie too, as far as I know. I think it's more likely he's aiming for movie deals with American studios. If so, he really screwed this one up, what with Hollywood making most of its ticket sale money from the Chinese box office.

Is the book any good? Despite the dragon's fussy eating habits?
Darth Pedant 4 years ago
So far the dragons eating people is the only redeeming feature.

:( Oh well. Looks like I will end up reading Jurassic Park. Have you tried Dinosaur Lake by Kathryn Meyer Griffith?

Jurassic Park gets a little dry and scientific sometimes, but at least Michael Crichton had faith in the intelligence of his readers.

I haven't tried Dinosaur Lake. Thanks for the rec! I'll keep my eye out for a copy.

Maybe the Americans are too high in saturated fat and cholesterol.
