Implausible for Fringe? *Gasp* This made me think of one of the early episodes that had a premise surrounding some "other frequency" or whatever that literally made no sense. I kept shaking my head at that (but kept watching, naturally).

They had an ordinary 15 year old breaking into a top security lab... and conveniently getting out with extra people. All the adults were either blind, oblivious or just stupid. There was also just stuff that didn't gel or was a contradiction to what was mentioned in the tv series. It's like the author watched a few episodes, talked to some people and made up a generic story. You could stick Buffy the vapire slayer in as the MC and add fangs to the "monster" and voila! new story.

Also, team dynamics made the show. There is no team in these books, so it's rather bland.

That's the frustrating thing with a lot of tie-in novels. They just don't nail the characters and team dynamics. I still indulge from time to time though (although I haven't with Fringe, admittedly).

I read the books out of curiousity. There were only 3.
