I thought it WAS fairly long-winded in parts!

Not as bad as Charles Dickens! and Austen's Sense and Sensibility. My eyes didn't glaze over.
Well, Hard Times drove me completely nuts in school. I have David Copperfield looming intimidatingly from Mount TBR - quite when I'll get to it I don't know.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether I'd rather re-read Jane Eyre or Sense and Sensibility. I like Jane Eyre as a heroine more, so probably that.

Sense & Sensibility was simply boring. Even when there was some huge catastrophe the emotions just weren't there, even if the words were on the page. Pride and Prejudice is turning out to be better. I never read Jane E as a school girl and Dickens didn't do much for me at school either, so that is on the Mount TBR for further "analysis".
Oh, yeah, P&P is waaaaaay better than S&S!
