Love this discussion! I personally feel like I would never wtop working on/improving my blog. I'll never be satisfied and I guess that's a good thing?haha I also recently used google calendar to organize my posting schedule better. I try to alternate between bookish discussions, reviews, meme, and other random stuffs I have in mind and it's good that you work on a better schedule :D I also just finished changing my header images to my own photos (I previously used stock photos) and I've also been planning to update all my tags and categories so it's simpler and easier to navigate. I used both blogger and tumblr a few years back and I don't know... I liked wordpress a lot better :P but blogger is better though, it's easier to personalize. I have commented on my blog before and I'm not sure about that signing up or guest option hehe I also don't like logging in from my facebook account because it's personal, so personally prefer logging in from my wordpress or use an option where I could leave my link so you could visit it by clicking my username hehe :P Good luck working on your blog and have fun!

I think I finally have my review schedule pinned down and won't be changing it any time soon. But I am still tweaking the rotation on My Musings (the discussion feature) and trying to squeeze in more lists.

Thanks for the info on commenting. I want to make it as easy as possible, but BookLikes isn't very flexible.

Discovered your blog on the Bloggiesta sign up page. I'm hosting a mini challenge, too.

I really like what you've done with this blog. The icons are super. I just started It's a Mystery Book blog, but I've been blogging for years. I find once I am satisfied with the look of a particular blog, something new happens on the internet and I have to scramble to change it all again. Then again, tweaking the look and utility is half the fun.

Thanks for the compliment. Art & graphics have never been my thing, so even the little bit I've done here has been a stretch. Someday if I get rich, I want to commission a custom design. I did have a lot of fun coming up with what I've got now.

Can't wait to see all the other mini-challenges.

It seems like you've made great progress already! As to a few of your questions, I've been on Blogger and am currently on self-hosted Wordpress and I think that Wordpress is by far superior. It is easy to use and not as bloggy looking as Blogger, particularly if you ever wanted to switch to another platform. I should mention that I love what you've done to your blog and is very easy to navigate. As for my own blog, I'm satisfied with it aesthetically and content with my posting schedule but there will always be something to work on. I found you through Bloggiesta and will have to check out your mini-challenge.

My to-do list is here:

I would love to do a self-hosted Wordpress blog; but my budget is currently $0.00, so that will have to wait. Thanks for the compliments. I hope someday to be satisified.

I'm so impressed with your blog so far and your anticipated work for Bloggiesta! Keeping up a regular review schedule makes it easier to review (or it does for me, which is why I feel like I'm in a rut -- writing reviews is almost painful these days! ;/).

Thanks for the compliments. I started my blog to have a place to review and yet reviews are the very hardest for me to write. I do find that having a schedule keeps me "on task."
This is a test comment written by me as part of my effort to create some commenting tips.

And a test reply.
Looks like you're off to a great start with your tasks! I should probably take another look at my review policy, as it's been awhile since I updated it.

I use Wordpress for my backup. I claimed my name on Tumbler, but it's empty as I never got around to doing anything with it. Good luck!

Thanks. Since I am doing it for a backup, I may end up going with a slightly altered name. Tumblr is available though, so I may go with that.

If you ever want to consider using wordpress (and hosting), I can help you. There are some incredibly affordable ways to do it (if you're experienced enough to find them).

Also, I like the idea behind this. I like the changes you've made and the challenges you set up for yourself.

At the moment my budget is $0.00, since I'm only working 20 hrs per week. I hope to be doing better next year, in which case I will definitely ask for some tips.

And thanks for all the comments today. I am trying to read more SF right now and have you on my list of review blogs I want to visit for suggestions.
You did an amazing job on your list!!!! Great work!

Thanks, I didn't do as well as I hoped; but I did do as well as I expected.
