I liked that Raffe and Penryn got their own little HEA, but that was the last reason why I liked this series so much before this. It's a bit of a disservice to all of the readers to start off with a badass, protector of her family/San Francisco to sort of devolve into a lovesick teenager. There was parts of the old Penryn in there, but she got lost in the midst of the love story side of the series.
I still enjoyed the level of descriptive writing Ee was able to manage though. She definitely has a way with making me picture all of her little Angelic abominations in great detail.
