Wow. This sounds really, really good. I may have to try this one, too. I previously only read her Holmes book and it was the first/only Holmes pastiche I have not hated. It doesn't sound like much but it is. So, from your updates and review, this sounds like a gem. I loved the quotes.

I haven't read Jane Steele. Mainly because I'm not a huge Bronte fan to begin with. The idea of a re-telling just doesn't appeal to me. I do have the last book in the Timothy Wilde to finish. I'm kind of putting it off because once it's done, the series is done. Her writing is something else.

So this book just bumped up on my LIbrary/Overdrive TBR. Great review :)

It was a very fitting book for the moment. Not only does it cover racial issues but it also gets into LGBTQ issues. It was definitely a good book for a June read.
