This is the kind of writer that interests me - I've liked some of his comedy writing for tv shows, but when a screenwriter hops to another medium, it doesn't always work. And it's really hard to tell from tv if you'd like their writing in another form - sometimes tv writing is edited so much, sometimes cowriters add enough to change the tone that that one writer alone couldn't manage - it's SO hard to tell. I would be curious whether the parts about tv production have any real life people he turned into characters - not that I have a clue whether he does that in his writing or not.

You might like it. I didn't say the book was bad. It just didn't work for me. I guess it might work as a tv comedy show.

It seems like a kinda risky might (I often end up not liking characters in fiction too) - especially because I don't always like his comedy tv writing! Sometimes it works and is fun - and sometimes it really doesn't. And of course having something to look at and actors to speak the lines changes everything.

Not liking most fiction by male authors is one of my dirty secrets.

Oh, gosh, I thought it was only me discriminating against the guys. I'm relieved, ladies.
