Totally agree! I love books that address real life issues. If you haven't read it yet, Some Kind of Happiness is one of my all time favorite examples of that. It's about childhood depression and it's beautiful. Also try We Are the Ants!
I have to agree with you. I love real life issues in books. Sometimes I feel myself screaming, "yes, yes" as I read something as it hits home on so many levels. I loved Some Kind of Happiness and We Are The Ants too, they are both excellent reads!
Thank you for your suggestions and insight. I love the controversial books the most because they reveal the most about the reader by how they react. I will definitely read these and post a review so maybe some discussion can start. Its amazing to read something you didn't know you were lacking and find it in literature.
Books that make you feel something - that's one of the reasons I read. And if a book provokes or causes controversy - good! I love it when a book makes me think. Most of the time, that is even exactly what I look for in a book. And too right these are the books I want to discuss.
I love discussion about the themes, relationships and situations. I can not wait to have discussions with everyone. I just know that some people can get mean online.
