I haven't, but at that price I'd want to know as well ...!
Sorry, no.

I have read one novella from that series ("A Chemistry Lesson with Inspector Bruce") and really enjoyed it. The historical fiction part of the series is very wall-papery, but the advancements in detective work and the action/suspense were wonderfully done. There are steamy scenes, but pretty vanilla for romance genre. Late Victorian setting that is more about middle-class people than ballrooms and titled peers, which made for something different in historical romance set in the UK.

Thanks Tea. I heard that the novella was between book 2 and 3 and that you should read it in order. I likely will reward myself, my daughter is still working but will have a c-section next week and with Canadian Healthcare apparently the nurses do not look after the baby (unless baby is ill) (we had that last year when my daughter-in-law had her baby), only after the mother and clearly mom cannot look the first few nights after baby. So I will spend the (likely) two nights in hospital with her as her hubby has to take care of their dog who is to big and rambunctious for my hubby or me to take off. And we are already on a skeleton crew at work and with my daughter gone next week it will be worse.

Once all has settled, I will deserve to buy any book I want.
Oh wow. Good luck to your daughter!

Thanks Themis and my family from Dortmund is arriving Aug 1 and staying until August 26. After the grand party on August 25, for two 40th, one 30th, three regular ones and my family not having met last year's new arrival, peace will arrive (hopefully) again and I will be able to read devoure new books again. Until then, it will have to be re-reads or novellas.

Congrats on the future little one! Yes, the books should be read in order due to the mystery and apprehension of the big baddie at the end of the series. Big Baddie's minions are taken out at the end of each book.
Oh jeez, that sounds like a busy month of August -- enjoy your family visit and the grand party! I hope everything goes just as you're hoping it will. What a time for your daughter to have a baby ...

Enjoy your reads as well!
