I quite agree with you. Some writers need an editor more than others, It depends on the quality of the material. I know Asimov hated anyone tampering with his "masterpieces"...I'm acquainted with some writers who always cry "bloddy murder" every time an editor makes the tinniest of suggestions...Prima donnas the lot of them..As for my own process, it's entirely different. I'm master of my own universe...I do what I please. Suffice to say, I can't stand the editing job, even when I'M TALKING ABOUT MY OWN STUFF...It's a pain...
