Good points, I need to do more of that. However my work is so busy I don't always have time. I also have a demanding young son, so I don't have enough time to interact as much as I would like. But I do think I will try to interact more.
Yes -- I was actually tempted to just "+1" everyone of the above posts, because that's exactly how I feel (substitue "job" for "son"), but for the sake of not doing what you advocate against ...
Today and yesterday especially have been extremely busy days here on BL, and though I've tried to actually contribute on as many posts / discussion threads as possible, it would have been impossible to comment on *everything" (not to mention that folks probably found enough of my comments inane as it is, lol). So, sometimes simply "liking" may actually be the wiser choice whenever you have nothing of your own to add and yet agree with the sentiment being expressed by others -- or, on busy days like the past 2 have been, it may even be your only option short of driving yourself and others mad! :)
(All of which MMM and Yodamom have already expressed much more succinctly anyway, so there. :) )
Themis, I'm pretty sure you would never drive any of us mad. In fact, you were extremely helpful to me when I was getting set up in October 2013. I'm glad too see you back.
Life *is* crazy, though, and sometimes interferes with the fun things, such as blogging -- happens to all of us, and may happen to me again, too (that's actually pretty likely, unfortunately). I just hope it won't be a whole year again next time! :)
Yes, I do that too; and sometimes it's because I want to say something, but have nothing but mundane. Later, sometimes, something witty comes to mind but by then it's so far back in the feed that it takes forever to scroll there. My bad. I, too, will try to make a better effort.
Also very true. I definitely think they are a good thing, and not all posts need a comment. It's just nice to start a chat once in a while to keep it feeling like a community and like we are friends, more than just followers.
And I don't even care if if the commenting is happening on my stuff or someone else's. As long as I can find wherever the conversation is happening -- something that hasn't always been easy to do.
I like this post as a reminder to those of us who are comfortable commenting, but I hope it doesn't make the shyer sorts feel like they are "doing it wrong."
Or maybe it will give them encouragement to join in. As a newbie, or even just new to some other member, I sometimes feel like I'm crashing in -- not that anyone has made me feel that way.
