For me this is the most memorable of Wilde's short stories.
Yes, same here. It was also one of the first things by him I read (might even have been *the* first thing). You just gotta pity that ghost!
I read all the short stories in quick succession then read some of the plays and poems.
I'm pretty sure I read this before I first saw "The Importance of Being Ernest" -- just not sure whether also before "Dorian Gray". Either way, it stuck and made me want to read and see more!

Dorian Gray and this one consist of all of Wilde's work that I've read. I do plan on reading "The Importance of Being Ernest."
I must admit that whenever I read anything from Wilde, I end up feeling sorry for Wilde and what happened to him in his life. :(
