This one was funny to me, possibly because I'm an avid hiker. The guys make a lot of newbie mistakes, but they definitely had fun and learned a lot.

I just discovered this is a movie starting Robert Redford and Nick Nolte. I'm going to check that out. I did a learn quite a bit, but I guess maybe my expectations were too high?
I watched the movie and enjoyed it, although I'm not sure how it compares to the book (I've read other Bill Bryson books but not this one). Both actors seemed to enjoy it, although I think Nick Nolte had the most fun...

His character was the one I enjoyed most in the book.

I do plan to check out Bryson's other works-is there another you would recommend?
Nick Nolte is great playing those kinds of characters (no idea what he is like personally, but he seems to feel very at home playing those types).
I read Bryson's book about Shakespeare (Shakespeare: The World as Stage), that was short but full of interesting information and read Notes from a Small Island (that having lived in the UK for a long time I found quite funny, although I wonder if it might feel out of date now). And I read The Lost Continent, that I also enjoyed. I wonder about his books on language, as that is a topic I always enjoy reading about.

Thanks for taking the time!
Thanks to you. You've reminded me of his books and after watching the movie I had wondered about this one as well. :) (Books are one of the few things I always have time for!)
