Are you still friends with the person who dropped your book in the bath? I mean, seriously, they tried to give it back to you??? Wow. I couldn't even imagine handing back a book in any condition other than what it was when I got it.

Also, re writing or highlighting in the books....I do that. I actually enjoy doing that, ... but only in MY OWN BOOKS. Tho, to be fair, I use paper sticky notes now most of the time.

I use a lot of paper sticky notes too. Otherwise, I'll also just snap a picture of the page on my phone and write on the photo.

In the bath?! Geez!

Yep. And then tried to make like it was in the same condition as it was when I gave it to her.
All of the above, re: book-related sins. In the bathtub ... and not even an apology?! You gotta be kidding me.

"Marking up a book-highlighting it or writing in the margins. You know that's not right, especially if the book is not yours! Stop it! No one thinks your thoughts are mind-blowing, they just think you're a jerk."

Well said.

If a book is yours, that's one thing. But I once checked a book out of the library, THE COLLECTOR by John Fowles. On the intro page, someone had written how disgusting the book was. How helpful! LOL (I actually thought it was pretty good.)
I wonder if that vandal even saw the irony in the book's title. Probably not ...
